Be it action, dialogue delivery or his swag of flipping his jacket, Rajinikanth’s acting prowess is par excellence. The actor has been entertaining for ages now and still at the age of 68, the actor is still continuing to impress us with his stellar performances, for example, 2.0, Petta and we are sure, he will do the same with his upcoming film, Darbar too. Owing to his outstanding contribution to Indian cinema from the past several decades, the government has decided to confer the South Superstar with a prestigious award Icon Of Golden Jubilee Award at the 50th International Film Festival of India which will take place in Goa this year.

Early this morning, Prakash Javadekar, Minister of Information & Broadcasting, announced the news on Twitter. He wrote, "In recognition of his outstanding contribution to Indian cinema, during the past several decades, I am happy to announce that the award for the ICON OF GOLDEN JUBILEE OF #IFFI2019 is being conferred on cine star Shri S Rajnikant. IFFIGoa50.” While responding to his tweet, he thanked the government for this honour, he wrote, “I thank the government of India for this prestigious honour bestowed upon me on the golden jubilee of the International film festival of India #IFFI2019.”





Recently, we came across an adorable picture of the superstar with his wife who paid a sweet visit on the sets of his upcoming film, Darbar. However, the moment the picture found its way on the internet, it went viral into time and fans couldn’t get over their love for each other even after so many years. A few months ago, Rajinikanth completed his 44 years in the industry. Hashtag #44YrsOfUnmatchableRAJINISM was trending on Twitter to celebrate and congratulate the actor on this glorious day.


Not just the South film industry is in awe of this marvellous actor's craft, but in Hindi Cinema too he is treated as one of the best artistes that the industry is blessed with. So him being honoured with this coveted award is pretty deserving.
